I think it’s wrong to ask employees to give. Why should I give?

The beauty of this campaign is not about how much we raise, but about how many people participate. Can you imagine the impact we can have with a collective effort? Gifts of all amounts are welcome and it’s an opportunity to participate in something big.

Where does the money go?

It’s your choice. You are the donor, so you get to decide which Eskaton program or community you want to help. A list of choices is on the contribution form.

Why do we have a foundation? Why doesn’t the company pay for everything?

Eskaton is a nonprofit organization. That means that any profit that is made gets reinvested into the organization rather than pay a board and/or stockholders. Just like your house, from time to time our communities have remodeling, replacement, and beautification needs that fall outside the available budget. All the donations given to Eskaton Foundation get reinvested to enhance the lives of seniors. Eskaton is the largest nonprofit community based organization serving seniors in the region. Having a successful foundation will help the organization thrive.

How does Eskaton Foundation and this campaign benefit me?

All the donations given to Eskaton Foundation are reinvested to enhance the lives of seniors. Whether the money raised is helping a senior remain in their own home longer, building a wellness center, or putting a smile on the face of a resident, when Eskaton Foundation is strong and solid, then so are our residents, program participants, employees, and volunteers.

I already give so much of my energy and time; why should I donate too?

The extra time you put in is really appreciated. Your participation is an opportunity to be a part of something big. Philanthropists, companies and the community in general tend to give more, when they know that our internal stakeholders believe too. I hope you will join us.

The contribution form shows that an employee can make a gift by giving personal leave. Why can I give personal leave to Eskaton Foundation, but not be able to cash it out?

Eskaton does have a policy against the cashing out of personal leave. Giving to Eskaton Foundation whether you give through payroll deduction, cash, or personal leave is how we will build a culture of philanthropy. The act of giving is extremely personal and heartening. Eskaton Foundation wants to provide as many options as possible for employees to participate in this special opportunity. A gift to Eskaton Foundation does not go to the company. The gift goes directly to Eskaton Foundation and will benefit the lives of seniors.

What happens if I don’t make a contribution?

The Employees All In Campaign provides you with an opportunity to participate in something that’s big for Eskaton. It’s not an obligation. It’s your choice.

Is my gift tax deductible?

An immediate income tax deduction is available if you itemize your taxes at the end of the year.
