Eskaton National Demonstration Home
The Eskaton National Demonstration Home showcases universal, barrier-free design; assistive technologies; and energy efficiency – all in a real-life setting. This educational center shows how smart design and innovative technology allows older adults to age-in-place. The Demonstration Home is also a showpiece for the Livable Design by Eskaton program. Livable Design By Eskaton™
Livable Design is an approach to creating home environments that are beautiful, flexible and adaptable, allowing ease of use for people of all generations. This program provides home building professionals with a unique marketing niche for housing designed with the future in mind. Eskaton Initiatives: "Official Sponsor of Longevity"
Eskaton's commitment to the health and well-being of its residents and participants extends beyond the obvious quality services and care. Person-Centered Approach
A transformation is taking place in America’s nursing homes and care settings -- from traditional institutionalized services to individualized, choice-driven services. This movement is called culture change. Eskaton is actively involved with the California Culture Change Coalition and is actively transforming care centers into places that promote a more residential feel, along with promoting individual choices and increased relationship building among residents, staff and families. Cognitive Fitness: Dakim
The Dakim Brain Fitness system combines decades of brain health research aimed at preventing or delaying memory loss with enjoyable activities. This program offers thousand of games, puzzles and other brain-building activities on a simple touch screen computer. The Dakim Brain Fitness system is located in many of our Eskaton communities. In assisted living and memory care settings, Eskaton is currently evaluating an innovative technology called QuietCare from GE Healthcare. Actively supporting resident quality of life and independence is paramount for Eskaton.
