Eskaton Releases 2007-2008 Annual Report

Release of Eskaton’s 2007-2008 Annual Report was a highlight of the company’s May 22 annual meeting. Eskaton Presenters at Aging Services of California Annual Meeting

Sheri Peifer, Eskaton Vice President, Research and Strategic Planning, and Wes Justyn, Eskaton Board member, led a session (What You Don’t See Matters) on the use of senior-friendly design elements and technology applications in creating homes that support aging in place at the May annual meeting of Aging Services of California.

Lynette Tidwell, Eskaton Vice President, Community Relations, participated in a panel presentation (Health and Fitness on the Cheap) that focused on the role of exercise and increased physical activity in reducing falls and the fear of falling among older adults.

TLC Program Honored at Aging Services of California Annual Meeting

Terri Becker, Program Director, accepted the 2008 Community Service award on behalf of Eskaton at the May annual meeting of Aging Services of California. The award recognized the exceptional holiday Giving Tree in which dozens of community organizations and individuals provide gifts for over 600 telephone reassurance clients and low-income senior housing residents.

Eskaton Village Roseville Wins MAME Awards

Eskaton Village Roseville was presented with three North State Building Industry Association’s MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) awards at the April 25 annual awards banquet.

  • Community of the Year
  • Best Overall Architecture for the Chateau floor plan
  • Best Overall Model Interior Design Complex

The awards were accepted on behalf of Lakemont and Eskaton by Ed Johanson, president and chief executive officer of Lakemont. Lakemont and Eskaton collaborated in development of Eskaton Village Roseville, a multiservice retirement community featuring owner-occupied homes; village center with indoor pool, exercise equipment and recreational space; assisted living apartments and a memory care center. The 52-acre community is located in northwest Roseville.

The event, held at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, drew representatives of the region’s private and public builders as well as architects, engineers and other associated professionals.

For the third time in a row, Eskaton Adult Day Health Center Carmichael earned deficiency-free survey results from the California Department of Aging -- an outstandng accomplishment. Eskaton Village Placerville Takes First Reservation

On April 16, 2008, Margaret Darby signed her reservation agreement and became the first prospective resident of The Lodge at Eskaton Village Placerville. Margaret grew up in the San Diego area where she currently lives.  She decided to move to Placerville to be closer to her daughter, Joan, and son-in-law, Don, who recently purchased a Lakemont home at Eskaton Village Placerville.

The Senior Connection resource specialist Brenda Muller received a call from the son of a regular Companionship Plus client requesting assistance in registering his mother to vote. Realizing that the voter registration deadline was the next day, Brenda contacted activity assistant Julianna Tachibana, who not only helped her client complete the form, but also took it to the post office, ensuring her client could vote in the primary election.
