Up and Away

Eskaton Village Roseville’s resident has always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon. This adventurous woman said “this would complete my life.” We are making contact with local hot air balloon businesses in hopes of getting this excursion donated.

Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay

Two residents of Eskaton Lassen Manor in Susanville recently found out that neither had ever been to the ocean. Both determined that going to Monterey Bay would fulfill their dreams. We are making arrangements now and they will make the six hour drive to Monterey in April to enjoy the aquarium and much more.

He Shoots, He Scores

He Shoots, He Scores – Now that the Sacramento Kings are going to be staying here, our resident at Eskaton Care Center Greenhaven wants to see a game. She has always enjoyed watching the team on TV, but wants to experience the thrill of seeing them live. We are contacting the Kings organization in hopes of them donating tickets (and maybe a meet-and-greet with a player and Slamson).

Sweet Tooth

Working at See’s Candy was the favorite occupation of this 100-year-old resident at Eskaton Lodge Granite Bay. We are in the process of contacting See’s Candy to see if we can get this centenarian behind the counter once more. Or, even better, we might treat her to a shopping spree for her and her fellow residents of ELGB.

Check Mate

This 77-year-old resident is a quiet and pleasant gentleman who can be seen in the lounge every day with his English-to-Russian dictionary, as he intently studies the contents of the American History and National Geographic books from the Eskaton Wilson Manor library. When we asked him what his Thrill would be, he said “I love to play chess.” Our goal is to get him his very own chess set and find other chess lovers for him to play with.

Up and Away

As a young boy, this resident at Eskaton Wilson Manor loved going with his father to fly model airplanes. Around the age of 10, his father gave him a chance to take the controls during the AMA (Academy of Aeronautics) National competition in San Francisco. Not only did he go against the grain by flying the plane clockwise instead of the traditional counter-clockwise, he beat out the National Champion as a novice. His wish was to get his hands on the controls again. A model airplane was purchased for him and another resident is helping him put it together. The model airplane might take up to a year to put together because of the detail, but in the meantime, this resident has established a relationship with Woodland Davis Aeromodelers and has been out to the field to watch other models be flown.
