PLANNED GIVING OPTIONS
The key to determining the right planned gift is to balance your wishes for yourself, your family and your charitable interests in your overall estate and financial plans. There are many ways to give planned gifts to the Eskaton Foundation:
Bequest
A bequest is the most common planned gift. Your attorney can include bequest language in your last will and testament or living trust that directs a specific dollar amount, or percentage of your residual estate to be given to the Eskaton Foundation. Your bequest may also include instructions for the specific use of your gift in your community.
General Bequest:
I give and bequeath to Eskaton Foundation, a California not-for-profit corporation, the sum of ____________ Dollars {or all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate} to be used for the general purposes of the __________ community, in the discretion of its Board of Directors.
Legal Name: Eskaton Foundation
Address: 5105 Manzanita Ave
Carmichael, CA 95608
Federal Tax ID #: 68-0227233
Charitable Gift Annuity
You can make a gift of cash or appreciated stock to the Eskaton Foundation in exchange for a charitable gift annuity contract. The Charitable Gift Annuity will pay you a fixed income for your lifetime (And a second person if you wish). You’ll receive an immediate, partial income tax deduction and a portion of your payments will be free of tax. When you pass on, your gift will be used for the purposes that you have directed.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
Similar to a Charitable Gift Annuity, a Charitable Remainder Trust provides lifetime income, a partial, immediate income tax deduction and a future gift to the Eskaton Foundation. The Charitable Remainder Trust can accept an array of assets. It can also be extended to more recipients and more charities.
Life Insurance
You can transfer policies that are paid-in-full or partially paid to the Eskaton Foundation.
Life Estate
You can make a gift of your personal residence or other real estate to the Eskaton Foundation to continue to retain full use and benefit of the property during your lifetime and get an immediate, partial income tax deduction.
Our staff is available to meet with you and discuss how you might develop a gift to meet your own needs. It is a highly personalized process.
Gifts of an IRA
You can also donate a portion of your IRA. To make a gift this way, you need to contact your IRA custodian or insurer for a beneficiary designation form. These are usually accessible online.
You or your advisors can use the Eskaton information above to complete the beneficiary form. We’d ask that you share a copy of this form with us as well.
