Sydney Lawson
Assistant to the Executive Director
Sydney Lawson has worked in the aging services industry for
over fifteen (15) years, gaining experience in both customer
service and providing quality support to other team
members. She is an RCFE Administrator certified by the
state of California. Sydney is intuitive and has the ability to
brainstorm solutions in the moment, which helps relieve some of
the workplace’s day-to-day stresses. Both residents and
co-workers seek-out Sydney because of her knowledge and
willingness to help. Outside the office, Sydney has
a very active and sassy daughter who keeps her and her husband
very busy.
Michele Ozanich
Director of Resident Services
Michele Ozanich has worked in the aging services industry for
over twelve (12) years, establishing methods to aid
residents in the process of transitioning to our community and
making the most of life here at Eskaton Village Grass Valley.
She is an RCFE Administrator certified by the state of
California. As the Director of Resident Services, Michele is
passionate about developing programs that support the overall
well-being of the residents, families, and staff of our
community and building meaningful relationships with them.
Outside the office, Michele’s family is at the center of her
heart. When not at work, she enjoys spending her time with her
husband, children and grandchildren. They love the beauty of
the great outdoors and some of their favorite memories have
been made through camping, backpacking and fishing together.
Kathy Madeiros
Business Office Manager
Kathy Madeiros has worked in the aging services industry for
over fourteen (14) years. As a seasoned business office
manager, she is very knowledgeable about long-term insurance
details and preparing monthly statements. Outside of the
office, Kathy enjoys the occasional quilting project and
spending time with the lights of her eyes, her five sons and
eight grandchildren. She has always believed that working at
Eskaton Village Grass Valley has been an extraordinary gift.
Monica Avalos
Resident Care Coordinator
Monica Avalos has worked in the aging services industry for
over sixteen (16) years, gaining valuable experience as a
Certified Nursing Assistant, a Licensed Psychiatric
Technician and an associate’s graduate of science for
psychiatric nursing. As the Resident Care Coordinator, she is
passionate about supporting the vulnerable aging population and
providing the care team with the knowledge and techniques they
require to offer the best care possible. In addition to
overseeing the health services department, she is involved in
providing ongoing evaluations and meeting the care needs of the
residents. Outside the office, Monica is happily married
and a proud mother of three boys.
Yvonne Harlabakis
Residential Living Advisor
Yvonne Harlabakis has worked in the aging services industry for
ten (10) years. Before coming to Eskaton, her prior position
was manager and event coordinator at the Trolley Junction
Restaurant in Nevada City for twenty (20) years. As a seasoned
Residential Living Advisor, she loves enhancing the quality of
life of each resident and being an active participant in all
aspects of caring for older adults. In addition, she enjoys
helping families find their loved ones the perfect new place to
call home. Outside the office, Yvonne has been happily
married to her husband Mike for over twenty-eight (28) years
and has been a proud Nevada County resident for over forty (40)
years. She has two boys Cody (27) & Caden (16) with whom she
enjoys summer boating and winter skiing.
Candice Nutting
Lead Housekeeper
Candice Nutting has worked in the aging services industry for
over fourteen (14) years. As a seasoned Lead Housekeeper, she
is passionate about providing excellent care and services to
the wonderful residents at Eskaton Village Grass Valley. In
addition, she is team captain of the Eskaton Chicken
Scratchers for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Candice has been
recognized by the California Assisted Living Association as
2017’s Outstanding Team Member for her extraordinary commitment
to older adults and community outreach. Outside the office,
Candice enjoys crafting, writing, and seeking new adventures
with her friends and family.
