“I look so forward to my daily calls and sometimes it’s the only one I get. May God bless you all for the outstanding job you do.” - Wayne, Participant
Socialization, peace of mind and a friendly voice are all part of the experience for Eskaton’s Telephone Reassurance participants.
Trained volunteers place calls seven days a week, 365 days a year to older adults who live alone. The calls serve as a “wellness check”, plus provide an opportunity to socialize.
The program has been offered since 1996 as a community service to older adults in the greater Sacramento region.
For isolated seniors, having a personal visit makes all the difference in the world.
Caring volunteers, who are partnered with homebound older adults based on common interests and location, provide companionship two to four times a month. All volunteers have passed a background check.
Volunteer work is extremely meaningful. YOU make a difference! If you would like to volunteer to call or visit an isolated senior, please contact Linda Whiteside at 916-334-1072, email Linda Whiteside or click here to complete the
