Meet Our Team – The Trousdale
Sylvia Chu
Executive Director
Sylvia has served in the senior living industry for over a
decade and spent many prior years in the hospitality business.
She is a firm believer in taking care of previous generations
who have laid the foundation for our current lives. Residents’
life experiences and stories are fascinating to her, and Sylvia
understands that it is crucial to hear these stories in order
to pass them on to the next generation. Sylvia feels very
fortunate in that she truly loves what she does. Outside of
work, Sylvia is active with several major volunteer
organizations and enjoys giving back to society and supporting
her local communities.
Sue Thourson
Business Office Manager
Sue is a Bay Area native with longstanding roots. Before coming
to The Trousdale, Sue worked at the Sisters of Mercy in
Burlingame for 23 years. Sue says it has always been her
passion to work with elders. She says that working at The
Trousdale with the wonderful residents brings pure joy to her
heart. Sue began running as a hobby about seven years ago, and
she hasn’t stopped since. She runs all the San Francisco
Originals races each year. Sue also enjoys baking in her spare
time. Sue is the proud mother of two children … and she
absolutely loves all dogs.
Jennifer Newman
Residential Living Advisor
Jennifer grew up in Mill Valley, California, before moving to
San Francisco about four years ago. She has served in the
senior living industry for 11 years, and she loves what she
does every day. On her time off, one of her favorite things to
do is to spend time with family and friends at her family cabin
at the Russian River.
Karen Dorrington
Residential Living Advisor
Karen has served in the senior living industry for several
years. She finds it both fun and rewarding to learn about the
residents and hear their life stories. Karen was born and
raised in Boston, where her family still resides. She relocated
to the west coast to be closer to her daughter.
Lu Shibli
Move In Coordinator
Lu is originally from Syria. She was very proud to officially
become a U.S. citizen soon after joining the team at The
Trousdale. Lu enjoys walking throughout the neighborhood, as
well as providing life coaching for women in Arabic on YouTube.
She feels all of our residents have come together as one large
family and she is so happy to be a part of what we have at The
Trousdale.
Marisa Taylor
Life Enrichment Director
Marisa has always been an avid party planner, and she loves
entertaining, making her the perfect fit for the life
enrichment director position. Her passion for seniors blossomed
after a career change to senior living after 15 years in
business development. Marisa is happily married and the mother
of two young children.
Martin Sanchez

Trousdale and is classically trained in culinary arts. His

chainsaw. Martin has been featured in the San Mateo Times,
Marin Journal, Sizzle Gourmet Magazines and other publications.
Ador Decano

Ador’s love of travel and his engineering background has
brought him all over the world, including the Middle East,
Africa and Asia. Ador’s family is growing rapidly. He will
become a first-time grandfather in 2020. Four grandchildren are
expected to arrive within five months of one another! Ador
always wants to do his best for our residents, as he takes
pride in caring for the elderly.
